The U.S. Coast Guard released its 2020 Recreational Boating Statistics Report Wednesday, revealing that there were 767 boating fatalities nationwide in 2020, a 25.1 percent increase from 2019.

Operation Dry Water (ODW) is a year-round boating under the influence awareness and enforcement campaign with the goal of removing impaired operators from the water and raising awareness of the dangers of boating under the influence. Alcohol continues to be the leading contributing factor in fatal boating accidents.
