New Fishing License Study Shows R3 Drives Increases

The Recreational Boating & Fishing Foundation (RBFF) today released an analysis of state and national trends in fishing license sales confirming the effectiveness of R3 efforts on growth. The research, done in partnership with the American Sportfishing Association (ASA) and the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and carried out by Southwick Associates, looks at license data and participation rates over a 25-year period.

Important Boating Safety Reminders for Fourth of July High-Boating Traffic

It’s important to be a responsible boater and take necessary precautions this Fourth of July, the highest-boating traffic time of the summer. The Safe Boating Campaign, a program of the National Safe Boating Council, reminds boaters of three key tips to prevent a boating accident – always wear a life jacket, never boat under the influence, and use an engine cut-off device.

Ready, Set, Wear It Inside Scoop

Ready, Set, Wear It Life Jacket Events teach boaters about the importance of always wearing a life jacket – with a bit of fun along the way! These events are hosted by Safe Boating Campaign partners around the world and may be a standalone event or incorporated into other local outreach efforts. Events may be offered once, twice, or multiple times throughout the year! Local partners are encouraged to plan a #RSWI2019 event any time between May 1 and October 31.

Arkansas: Boating Accidents Down in 2018

According to the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission’s recently published annual summary of boating accidents in Arkansas, people who spent time on the water last year saw a 9 percent decrease in boating accidents and a 36 percent decrease in the number of boaters who died from boating accidents.
