The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), a national catalyst for recreational boating safety, shares its communications director, Yvonne Pentz, has been recognized in the 2023 class of Boating Industry 40 Under 40.
Boating Industry 40 Under 40 highlights and honors young professionals across all segments of the recreational marine industry, who continuously demonstrate strong leadership and passion in their respective organization’s roles and for the industry as a whole.
“On behalf of the NSBC board and staff, we couldn’t be more of proud of Yvonne,” said Robert Newsome, chair of the NSBC. “Her loyalty to the NSBC and passion to advance recreational boating safety shows in everything she does.”
With more than 15 years of experience in integrated communications and marketing, the NSBC’s communications director, Yvonne Pentz, has worked for nearly 15 years in recreational boating safety. With a focus on engaging the boating public utilizing the latest marketing tools and proven tactics, she oversees grant management and implementation of NSBC’s programs that reach hundreds of thousands of boaters around the world. She has worked alongside the NSBC since 2007, and joined the team fulltime in 2017.
“Yvonne is an absolute joy to work with, and her work ethic and creativity inspire and motivate the RBS community to coalesce around the NSBC marketing strategy,” said Phillips, executive director of the NSBC.
Pentz’s recreational boating safety work has received accolades from the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts’ Communicator Awards, Hermes Awards, PR Daily Nonprofit Awards, and PRSA’s Bronze Anvil, to name a few.
Before joining the NSBC, Yvonne led her own consultancy business for five years. She also worked for a central Ohio public relations agency, representing for-profit and nonprofit organizations with a focus on national campaigns. She also has experience as a radio host, freelance writer, and event planning specialist.
