National Safe Boating Council, Walkabout Productions, Inc. Recognized with CINE Golden Eagle Award

(Bristow, VA) August 1, 2012 – The National Safe Boating Council and its production partner Walkabout Productions, Inc. have been selected by CINE to receive the prestigious CINE Golden Eagle Award for its “Almost a Perfect Day: Environmental Stressors” DVD.

The DVD was chosen as a winner in the Non-Telecast Non-Fiction
Division under the subcategory of “Business – Safety, Training, &
Employee Development.” This eleven-minute production examines how
the Environmental Stressors, like wind, sun, vibration, noise, and motion
of the boat can produce fatigue and dehydration. It also shows how
alcohol can enhance the effects of the stressors. The DVD focuses on
what three friends did wrong and how the viewer can learn to minimize
the impact of the environmental stressors to have a more enjoyable and
fun experience boating.

“This is a very prestigious award in the world of film-making and we’re so glad to be selected,” comments Virgil Chambers, executive director of the National Safe Boating Council. “The NSBC, Walkabout Productions, and the advisory team have constructed a truly award-winning product that will no doubt help to educate boaters.” CINE was founded in 1957 and is dedicated to discovering and recognizing outstanding filmmakers and producers. Approximately 1,000 entries are submitted for review twice a year, among which “Almost a Perfect Day: Environmental Stressors” has now joined the ranks among top film professionals in the field.
