Cartersville, GA (7/27/2025) – The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) announced today its support for the dedication of a life jacket loaner station in memory of Captain Chris Day.
Captain Chris served as an instructor trainer with the NSBC for eight years, passionately advocating for recreational boating safety. He was also a dedicated TowBoatUS business owner, proudly operating on Lake Allatoona and locations in Alabama and Florida.
Captain Chris’s legacy lives on through his unwavering commitment to saving lives on the water. He passed away in 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer, and this life jacket loaner station stands as a tribute to his enduring impact on the boating community.
The event, hosted by the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), is open to all boating safety advocates as well as friends and family of Captain Chris Day.
We hold a heartfelt expectation that this gathering, held on Chris’s birthday, will genuinely honor his memory and reflect his unwavering passion for boating safety. It is our sincere hope that this station will encourage greater life jacket use, and ultimately help save lives.
Chris was deeply committed to recreational boating safety. He personally installed numerous life jacket loaner stations around the lake, and we can’t imagine a more fitting tribute to his legacy than dedicating one in his name.
