Boating and Water Safety Organizations Announce 2018 IBWSS Media Campaign Contest Winners

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), National Water Safety Congress (NWSC) and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) recently announced the International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS) Media Campaign Contest winners.

MANASSAS, Va. (March 19, 2018) – The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), National Water Safety Congress (NWSC) and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA) recently announced the International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS) Media Campaign Contest winners.

The Media Campaign Contest recognizes the outreach efforts of boating and water safety organizations, agencies and groups for their creativity in communicating with the public about safety on the water. The first place winner in each category received a discount code towards their 2019 IBWSS registration.

“We were inspired by all of the innovative and original entries we received for the media campaign contest,” said Peg Phillips, executive director of the National Safe Boating Council. “This year’s award winners have done a remarkable job of developing communications to promote boating and water safety throughout the country.”

The 2018 Media Campaign Contest winners by category include:

 Audio PSAs – Recognizing exceptional radio public service announcements.

  • 1st Place: California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways
  • 2nd Place: Idaho State Parks & Recreation
  • 3rd Place: Water Sports Foundation

Booklets & Brochures – Recognizing exceptional printed media distributed to the public.

  • 1st Place: California State Parks Division of Boating and Waterways

  • 3rd Place: US Army Corps of Engineers

Electronic Education – Recognizing exceptional digital and social media tactics.
