Meritorious Public Service Award Given to Captain Fred Messmann

While in attendance at the
88th meeting of the National Boating Safety Advisory Council
(NBSAC) in Washington, D.C., Fred Messmann was given the
United States Coast Guard Meritorious Public Service Award. Mr.
Messmann retired from Nevada Department of Wildlife and is
currently the Deputy Director of the National Safe Boating Council
(NSBC).

Internet Advertising Competition Award

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) has won the coveted “Best Non-Profit Social Media Campaign” Internet Advertising Competition (IAC) award presented by the Web Marketing Association for its 2010 Life Jacket “Safety Dance” interactive campaign intended to spread the important message of life jacket safety and awareness. The IAC awards honor excellence in online advertising, recognize the individuals and organizations responsible and showcase the best in award winning Internet advertising.

Congressional Reception and Confluence Awards

The tenth annual Congressional Reception, hosted by the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) and National Association of State Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA), was held on May 17, 2011 on Capitol Hill. The reception is held each year to officially present the Boating Safety Confluence Awards.

Hall of Fame Inductee Shawn Alladio

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) is proud to introduce two deserving individuals into its prestigious Boating Safety Hall of Fame. The award is used to recognize those who have demonstrated vital leadership and support through many years of service to boating safety.

Pillar of Support Award Recipient Announced (FY 2010)

The Pillar of Support Award, presented by the United States Coast Guard Boating Safety Division and the National Safe Boating Council (NSBC), honors individuals, organizations and companies that have demonstrated a strong commitment and support to the National Recreational Boating Safety Program. Bruce Rowe, Director of Marine Services for Forever Resorts, was selected as the 2010 recipient of the Pillar of Support Award.

OMC “Take ‘Em Boating” Grant Winner

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) has officially recognized the winner of the OMC “Take ‘Em Boating” grant at the 15th annual International Boating and Water Safety Summit in Savannah, GA. Kama’aina Kids is this year’s winner with their Boating on the Bay program.

Huron Water Safety Day is Recognized for its outreach effort
Savannah, GA (March 9, 2011) – The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) has announced the winner of the 2011 Boating Safety Youth Program Award, sponsored by the Boat Owners Association of The United States (BoatU.S.). Huron Water Safety Day was recognized as the 2011 winner for its day-long safety event held each year since 2007.
